Saturday and Sunday Cohen and I went over to my Mom's house to celebrate Christmas with my Brother Jon and his family. It was so great to see Heather and my little niece Simone. She is just about to turn 1 and is the cutest thing ever. I haven't seen her in quite awhile so I was worried how she would react when I walked in the door. As soon as she rounded the corner to see who had arrived she threw her ups up and ran right to me. Oh how it melted my heart. I am sure she recognizes me only because my brother and I look so alike at times, but I will take it either way. She really got along with Cohen as well. She was very fond of trying to steal his pacifier, but other than that she was very willing to share her toys with him. We can't wait to see you all again and wish you luck with your new adventures coming up next month!

Christmas Part Duex
Grandma and Grandpa Smith came from Ohio to spend the day with us and it was so great to see them. Aunt Shannon came in from Holland and later in the day Grandma and Grandpa Blume stopped by as well. I made a ton of food (which all turned out great) and we had a good time opening gifts, eating and spending sometime together. We had Cohen open gifts after everyone got here so we could all share in the excitement of his first Christmas.
Christmas Morning
Cohen and I got up first (as usual). Got the coffee going and all the lights turned on and waited for big brother Brody to make it upstairs. He did come up about 7:45 which is much earlier than last year and at least we didn't have to wake him up! We had a great time watching Brody open all of his gifts. We are going to have Cohen open his later when Grandma and Grandmpa come over.

Christmas Eve
Today we went to Grandma and Grandpa Dave's to pick Brody up and celebrate Christmas with them. Grandma made a super yummy chicken noodle soup and her famous crab dip. We then opened gifts and chatted for a bit before heading home. The weather wasn't looking so great so we thought it better to get home before it got worse. Here are a few pics of our night.

5 Months Old
Today is the big 5 for Cohen. Hard to believe it has been 5 months since he arrived. What an amazing turn he has made the last week or so. He is officially the easiest baby to take care of now. He goes to bed awake and has no problem falling asleep and doesn't wake up until 6:30 or later. Mom really enjoys this. Then over this past weekend he has made the transition to the crib for ALL naps and he is going down awake. I just can't believe it. He is practicing sitting up with some help and rolling over whenever he gets the chance. We can't wait to see what the next month brings for us...maybe some teeth?Oh soooo much snow
We have gotten a ton of snow over the last few days. Friday it started around 5 am and ended around noon. I think in that time we got about 10 inches. Needless to say driving on Friday was quite an adventure. Today we got a few more inches, but as you can see from the pics it is really starting to add up. I guess we won't have any worries about not having a white Christmas this year!

Bonus Picture
We are not sure what happened, but when we previewed this picture on the camera the entire family couldn't stop laughing. It looks like Cohen has rabbit teeth. This is one picture we don't ever want to forget!
Family Shots
We had a good time last night taking some family pictures. Unfortunately we are still in search of a chance to get all 4 of us in one shot, but for now this will have to do.

Boring
I apologize for not updating recently, but we really don't have a whole lot going on. With the holidays just around the corner we are trying to get all of our shopping done as well as everyone working.
The boys are doing great! Cohen is back to his old self and that means sleeping through the night again. He even has learned to put himself to sleep. For about a week now I have been placing him in the crib while he is still awake and I never hear a peep until the morning. He doesn't wake up crying anymore either. He just lies in there and chats with himself for 20 minutes or so.
Brody just finished up session one of basketball. His team was undefeated! He will start his next session shortly after the first of the year. He has done great at school as well. Last Friday we got a call from the principal letting us know how great he has been. On top of that we received an email from his teacher and a note from the busdriver. They were all so impressed with the changes he has made.

New Videos
Cohen attempting to roll over but pooping out instead
Cohen chatting up a storm
Cohen talking himself to sleep
Cohen rolling over while being nakey!!!!
Keep rollin...rollin...rollin
As you remember Cohen had rolled from his tummy to his back over the weekend. Well I was more excited to tell the girls at daycare than I was anyone. They along with me have been waiting so patiently for the day to come. So fast forward to today. I was at the daycare playing with all the babies like I always do when Cohen started to roll over from his back to his front. I was getting so happy and cheering him on when his caregiver Erica said, "oh look there he goes...he does that all the time now." I looked at her with such shock on my face. Apparently he has been rolling onto his tummy for a few days now, but she had not mentioned it because she thought I had said he had done it over the weekend. Silly Erica! We are just so proud of how much Cohen is learning and all the new things he can do. Most recently he has discovered that he can find his pacifier in his lap and put it in his mouth all by himself. Can't wait to see what he learns next.

Furbabies like Christmas too!
I must have spent 45 minutes trying to get these two dogs to pose for a picture and this was the best I could do! I think you get the point though.
