Update on CoCo

Cohen has another ear infection. It has made him quite the unhappy baby the last few days. Hoping that by tomorrow he is feeling better and more like himself.

Below are pictures of him in his new short jammies. I have to admit they are mostly for my pleasure. There is nothing better than those chubby arms and legs out in the open.

Recently we have also been going through so feeding changes. He doesn't seem very interested in the bottle, but at the same time is not interested in the sippy cup either. Like everything else we will have to wait it out and see what he decides to do. He no longer eats jar baby food unless it is to take his meds in the morning. He LOVES his real food. If he sees anyone eating he expects that he will get some as well. There has not been one thing put in front of him that he doesn't eat and I mean nothing. Just last night we had burgers for dinner. He got his hamburger plain and cut into small pieces with a side of cut up tomato (his favorite). It is so much fun watching him experience all the new flavors and textures.

Next up I hope to be posting about him crawling. We are getting somewhere with it, but he still dislikes being on his belly so much that it is hard to get him to work on it.

Fun at the park and firestation

Last weekend was the first nice Saturday we have had all year. My friend Erin and I decided to take the kids to the zoo. As soon as we got there it was quickly realized that everyone else in the tri state area had the same idea. So instead we stopped at Dairy Queen to get some blizzards and then head to our Township Park. Lucky for us Clayton works at the first house that is directly in front of the park so we treated Colin to a tour of the trucks. He was so amazed he almost looked like he wasn't having any fun, but he promised me he was and that he didn't want to leave.

We were experimenting with jumping and taking pictures. Note to self...it doesn't work to well with two very different sized children!

Two peas in a pod! Towards the end the babies were getting slightly crabby. The best part is they were using each other's pacifiers.
This appears to be Cohen's favorite position in the stroller!

Uh Oh! Someone's Daddy is not going to be very happy when he sees this picture of his little girl.

Opening Day

Saturday was Brody's first baseball game of the season. Grandma and Grandpa Blume made it. That was until the rain started coming. Cohen and I headed out so he wouldn't get stuck in the rain. Shortly after Grandma and Grandpa left. Dad stuck it out and watched Brody's game. They didn't win this one, but Brody did hit a homerun with runners on 2nd and 3rd. Way to go Brody!

Here is Cohen enjoying the outdoors from his stroller. He loved everytime the wind blew his hair around. He would squeal in delight.
Brody started off as catcher. This is the first year he has ever been excited about playing this position

Waiting for the National Anthem to start so they could start their game

It may be cold

but you can still have fun at the park. My good friend Erin is awesome enough to live next door to a park. We took the kids over after dinner and let them burn off some energy. Cohen really enjoyed playing in the swing.

I love you big brother

There is nothing that makes my heart smile more than watching my two boys together. It seems that Brody is the coolest person in the world to Cohen these days. Whenever Brody walks in the room it is as if nothing else is there. Brody can do just about anything and Cohen will get the worlds biggest grin on his face. I truely hope the feeling never goes away for the two of them.

Easter Morning - Brody

Brody really enjoyed the fillings of his Easter basket. A new game for his DS, a snow board game for the Wii (which of course he rocked at the first time he play), a ton of candy and the coolest chocolate easter bunny ever! It was a too tall easter bunny whose ears were popping out of the box.

Easter Morning - Cohen

Cohen really enjoyed going through everything in his Easter basket. He got a bucket for the bath, a rubber duckey and some yummy snacks. Of course anything that came out of the basket went right into his mouth for testing. The only issue he had was with the basket itself. Anytime it came near him he would kick it away.

Coloring Egg Part 2

This is the lovely reaction Cohen would give us if I took the egg away from him!

This is right before he threw the egg overboard and listened to it crack

Coloring Eggs Part 1

The family sat down together the day before Easter to color our eggs. We had a good time. No messes were made except for Cohen dropping eggs from the highchair onto the floor. He apparently liked the sound they made when they hit the floor. We did find it very challenging to include Cohen this year. He was too young to help actually color them so we did give him already colored eggs to play with. I am sure you can guess where they went...right into his mouth! I am sure next year Cohen will enjoy it a lot more.

Toothless wonder...

No more. Last weekend when out to eat Cohen wanted to chew on my finger, like any good Mother I let him. To my amazement it actually hurt. There was a tooth in there. Of course over the last week I have checked it everyday for fear that it would somehow retract and not be there anymore. Luckily for us it has continued to sprout. I am not sure when it first broke through and he gave no indication by crabbiness, lack of sleep or crying that anything was going on. Let's keep out fingers crossed that the rest of his teething will go this smooth.

Real food here we come

Recently Cohen has expressed much frustration and anger when watching any of us eat. The other night he was sitting on the floor staring so intently as big brother Brody ate his dinner. I looked up a few minutes later and could have swore Cohen was 6 inches closer to Brody. A few minutes later the same thing. Cohen was actually scooting his way closer to what he wanted most...Brody's dinner. This is when I realized that teeth or no teeth maybe it was time to start exploring more options when it came to food. So we tried it. Yesterday he had some of my hamburger bun (boring I know) and some of Brody's pizza. If cut into small enough pieces it doesn't seem to matter what it is as long as it came off your plate and went into Cohen's mouth. We are so excited to start exploring more and more foods in the upcoming weeks.

The other night poor Cohen was so tired he feel asleep after being fed on the couch. You can obviously tell from the hand placement how exhausted he really was.

Cohen with his favorite toy. Yes a baby hair brush!
