8 Months

Cohen is 8 months! So hard to believe. I type this as he sits on the floor next to me pulling every toy out of the box and setting them on his lap. Then pushing them all at once with both hands. Boy how things have changed so quickly.
In the last month he has starting babbling a lot more. He says MaMa, DaDa and BaBa. Although he isn't able to associate the words with certain people yet. He can also get from a sitting position to his belly which I think is a step closer to crawling. He still cries after being on his tummy for more than 2 minutes, but I am sure when he realizes he can move around that with change. He has been eating really well up until the last day or two. Not sure if it is teeth or just feeling a little off.

St Patricks Day!!!!

Here some adorable pictures of my boys on St. Patricks Day! Clayton was working so we held off on taking Brody to dinner for his Birthday until Thursday. To celebrate the night of his birthday I made him mac n cheese and garlic green beans for dinner. What a strange kid I know, but he loves his garlic green beans.

Brody's Birthday Part 3

After Brody opened gifts he of course wanted to break out the guitar hero. By this time little Cohen was starting to get tired and a little fussy. We thought watching his big brother play the game would keep him entertained for a few minutes. We were right. He sat there mesmerized by the music and all the lights. At one point he grabbed unto Brody's pant leg and sat there like that for minutes. What a special moment between brothers.

Brody's Birthday Part 2

Mom and Dad got Brody the Wii Fit
Grandma and Grandpa Blume got him Guitar Hero (which was a ton of fun to watch)
Grandma and Grandpa Smith got Brody a real accoustic guitar. Unfortunately it hadn't arrived in time for the party so that will be coming later.

Happy Birthday Brody

The Saturday before Brody's actual birthday we had both sets of grandparents and Aunt Shannon over for dinner, cake and gifts. We were lucky enough to have Grandma and Grandpa Smith spend the weekend with us as they were on their way from Ohio to Pennsylvania for a short getaway. We had such a wonderful time and really enjoyed having all of the family together to celebrate Brody turning 7...I mean 9 years old :) We love you so much Brody and can't believe how fast the time has gone by. It seems like just yesterday you were playing t-ball when you were 5 years old and just barely big enough to hold the bat up let alone hit a home run like you are able to do now. Mom and Dad look forward to celebrating many more milestones with you as you approach becoming a young man and taking all that great potential and showing us all that you will achieve in these upcoming years.

Old Man Pants

What I love most about taking pictures with Cohen is that it is never premeditated. He will just sit a certain way or make a face that I just have to get on the camera. Last night as he was sitting in the chair like a big boy I saw the way his pants rode up over his buddah belly and had to get a picture.

Yummmm

Last Saturday while out with one of my friends and her kids I decided to let Cohen have his first taste of the good life. Ice cream with chocolate and butterscotch sauce. He was a little scared at first because it was so called, but quickly saw the light. He was so mad when I wouldn't give him anymore.

Lately Cohen has been working on getting back into a normal schedule. It seems after I got home from vacation he was thinking it was a free for all. I love him anyway, but would really love to get more sleep.

Right now we are working on some stage 3 foods which tend to be a little thicker and some have chunks in them. Not sure he is ready for that just yet so we are trying to take it slow. I did introduce puffs to him the other day. Basically they are like little pieces of cereal that melt very quickly. He is not able to pick them up yet as he hasn't realized he has a thumb! The first time I had one in my hand and after awhile of trying to pick it up he just grabbed my hand and brought it to his mouth. What can I say? He is smart.

Other than that things on the home front are pretty quiet. Brody is done with basketball and waiting for spring when baseball starts. We are trying to take it easy before it gets super busy.

I'm Back!

After almost a week away from my family (while I was on a cruise) it was so great to see Clayton and the boys. Cohen must have smelled me come in because not but 20 minutes after I got dropped off he was crying in his room and wide awake when I got in there. We stayed up for a few hours playing and then he went back to bed until the morning. Before I had left he and I were working on his clapping skills. He still wasn't quite getting it but much to my suprise this morning while he and I were playing on the floor he just started clapping. Clayton swears this was the first time he had done it. I felt so special. I wasn't able to get much on video but enough so you get the point.

He also learned how to wave bye bye. He was just starting to learn this when I left but is fully able to do it and almost always on command.

P.S. to those of you that couldn't view the previous video links you can try again. I marked them public so you shouldn't have any problems.
